About
Step back to the Magherafelt of 1839, with a visit to the town’s Bridewell – a gaol for the criminals of the town…Meet with Mrs McKinley, one of the strict wardens, and walk the gloomy cells as she tells you of life within the Bridewell walls and the fate of the prisoners, before exploring the ancient graveyard attached to the prison.
Remember though – it is very easy to enter the Bridewell, but far harder to leave it…
Tours times: 10.00, 11.00, 12.00, 14.00 and 15.00. Spaces on each tour are limited to ten people, so please book in advance to avoid disappointment.
Bookings can be made here or via telephone the Bridewell on 028 7963 1510 or email bridewell.reception@midulstercouncil.org.
Why not add to your experience and book onto the Walking Tour of Magherafelt – A Circle of Town, A Circle of Life.
