About

Katie's Cottage is a rare circa 1820 Grade B+ listed one and a half storey thatched cottage which was fully restored and renovated to a very high standard in 2016/2017. It is an excellent example of Irish vernacular architecture.

The ground floor consists of an entrance hall, kitchen/dining area with seating area and wood burning stove, a utility room with washer/dryer, living room with an open fire, a double and single bedroom with open fires and a small wet room with electric shower. The living room is the hub of the cottage off which the rest of the cottage flows. The stairs in the cottage are located to the rear of the living room fireplace leading to a spacious landing with a small open gallery perfect for a quiet reading area. There are two double bedrooms one with ensuite and a separate bathroom with bath and shower. The cottage is flooded with natural daylight making it a beautiful and relaxing environment.

There are lawns with flower beds to the front of the cottage and a lawn area to one side of the cottage. There is ample private parking in the spacious back courtyard and a small parking area at the front of the cottage.

The cottage is siyuated on the main Deerpark Road 0.6miles from the village of Bellaghy and 0.7miles from Seamus Heaney Homeplace.
