About

Laurel Villa is Trip Advisor's number one place to stay in the Magherafelt area and when you read our reviews it is easy to see why.

We are ideally located within a 45 minute drive from Belfast, Derry~Londonderry, the Giant's Causeway and Northern Ireland airports. Situated in Magherafelt town centre, we have secure parking and we are within walking distance of great restaurants, bars and shopping.

If you are looking for somewhere that little bit different but at the right price, this is it. Our family run guesthouse has lots of period detail and furnishings and combines contemporary comforts with the charm and ambiance of an earlier age. We cater for people interested in family history and in those wishing to find out more about Nobel Laureate Seamus Heaney.

If you are a business traveller you will find everything on hand for you at Laurel Villa. We have high speed broadband and it is complimentary for our guests.

Breakfast is served in an elegant dining room using only the best of local produce, including fresh herbs from the kitchen garden. Vegetarian, gluten free and other special diets are catered for. Recommended by the Guardian and the Daily Telegraph newspapers and other guide books. Evening meals are available to guests, 24 hour notice must be given.

Recommended by the Good Hotel Guide, Georgina Campbell and National Geographic Travel Guides and by newspapers such as the Times, the Guardian, Irish Times, Irish News, The Observer and Daily Telegraph.

Winners of the Highly Commended Award at the Northern Ireland Tourism Awards in 2009 and 2010.

The owner of Laurel Villa Guest House is a professional Blue Badge guide and is available to take bespoke tours for individuals and small groups. We have an unrivalled knowledge of the area and visitors, especially those looking for ancestors, benefit greatly from this service. Combined with our extensive database of genealogical material, this is one of the very best places in the country for family history.
