About

English below

4 days in Derry - A Woman's Story léirítear imeachtaí tragóideacha Dhomhnach na Fola trí shúile ban muinteartha do na trí íospartach déag shointeanta a scaoil trúpaí Briotanacha chun báis ar shráideanna Dhoire ar an 30 Eanáir 1972.

Daofa siúd a bhí i láthair ag an ainghníomh, agus daofa siúd a mhair fríd an am ina dhiaidh, tá tionchar uafásach na brúidiúlachta a imríodh ar shaoránaigh Dhoire a bhí ag siúl ar son cearta sibhialta le mothú go fóill corradh is caoga bliain i ndiaidh an lae uafásaigh sin.

Ag díriú ar na ceithre lá thart timpeall ar Dhomhnach na Fola agus bunaithe ar fhíorchuntais mhná céile, mháithreacha, dheirfiúracha agus iníonacha na dtrí fhear déag a dúnmharaíodh, tugann an grúpa drámaíochta Movers & Shakers cuntais fhíorphearsanta agus choscracha na mban agus na gcailíní a d'fhulaing an caillteanas is troime.

Tá a scéalta lán péine, feirge agus teacht aniar. Lán bróin a bhí, in amanna, gan sonrú. Lán grá chomh fíochmhar sin go raibh an caillteanas dofhuilste.

Is scéalta iad nár insíodh ‑ go dtí anois.

4 Days in Derry – A Woman's Story depicts the tragic events of Bloody Sunday through the eyes of female relatives of the thirteen innocent victims shot dead by British troops on the streets of Derry on January 30, 1972.

For those who experienced the atrocity, and for those who lived through its aftermath, the devastating effects of the brutality unleashed on Derry citizens marching for civil rights still resonate more than fifty years on from that horrific day.

Focusing on the four days in and around Bloody Sunday and based on real-life testimonies of the wives, mothers, sisters and daughters of the thirteen murdered men, the Movers & Shakers Drama Group brings to life the deeply personal and heart-wrenching accounts of women and girls who suffered the most grievous loss.

Their stories are ones of pain, anger, and resilience. Of grief that, at times, went unnoticed. Of love so fierce that the loss was unbearable.

They are stories that went untold – until now.
