Field Notes: Writing the Natural World with Garrett Carr

Seamus Heaney HomePlace, 45 Main Street, Bellaghy, Derry, BT458BF
Garett Carr writing the natural world

About

In Partnership with RSPB NI

Experience the landscape as a starting point for creativity in this immersive writing workshop. The day begins on Moneystaghan Bog, where writer Garrett Carr and a representative from RSPB Northern Ireland will introduce participants to the ecology and character of this distinctive bogland. Inspired by the textures, wildlife, and atmosphere of the bog, participants will return to the HomePlace to transform their observations into new writing, guided by Garrett in a supportive and imaginative workshop setting.

Garrett Carr is the author of The Rule of the Land: Walking Ireland's Border and the novel The Boy from the Sea and lectures in Creative Writing at the Seamus Heaney Centre at Queen's University, Belfast.
