This year, the scenic town of Maghera will host the County Londonderry Twelfth of July celebrations, bringing together eight districts, over 50 lodges, and thousands of spectators for a spectacular day of pageantry, heritage, and fellowship.

The Assembly Point will be at the junction of Station Road and Crew Road with a parade start time of 12noon sharp (lodges will assemble from 11:00am). They will then take in Station Road, Grove Terrace, O'Hara Road, Coleraine Road, Main Street, Church Street, Mullagh Road and on to the Demonstration Field which has been graciously provided by Maghera Presbyterian Church.

The return parade will begin at 3:30pm sharp taking in Mullagh Road, Church Street, Main Street. Lodges will split, to the right onto Coleraine Road for Castledawson District LOL No.1, Kilrea District LOL No.5, Garvagh District LOL No.4, Tamlaght O'Crilly District LOL No.9 and to the left onto Hall Street for Magherafelt District LOL No.3, Ballyronan District LOL No.7, Moneymore District LOL No.10 and Tobermore District LOL No.11.

At the head of the parade will be Grand Lodge, County, and District Officers, followed by Castledawson LOL 96 with Castledawson Flute Band, The full Castledawson District LOL No. 1, then Kilrea District No. 5, Garvagh No. 4, Tamlaght O'Crilly No. 9, Moneymore No. 10, Magherafelt No. 3, Ballyronan No. 7, and Tobermore No. 11.

A party of Lambeg drummers from Kilrea District will also join the procession.

Castledawson District LOL No. 1 will proudly debut their new District bannerette and Wor. Bro. Michael Thomas, Grand Chaplain of Canada, will be a special guest of Blackhill Royal True Blues LOL 350, Garvagh District No. 4.

The Association of Loyal Orangewomen of Ireland and the Junior Associations will make this a true family occasion with participation from the new Junior Lodges of JLOL 44 (Garvagh) & JLOL 218 (Tamlaght O'Crilly). Established Juniors such as JLOL 80 (Magherafelt), JLOL 81 (Ballyronan), JLOL 191 (Maghera), Girls Lodge JWLOL 51 (Magherafelt) and Magherafelt WLOL 102.

The platform proceedings will start at 2:00pm at the Demonstration feld. The principal speaker Rt. Wor. Bro. Harold Henning, Deputy Grand Master will be in attendance, along with Wor. Bro. Stephen Fleming, County Grand Secretary and Wor. Bro. Keith Thompson, Deputy County Grand Master, with the praise led by Bro. Rev. Nigel Kane, assistance from Bro. Rev. Rhys Jones and Bro. Rev. Dr William McCrea, Baron McCrea of Magherafelt and Cookstown.

They will have public toilets at St. Lurach's Road, opposite the Movie House cinema with additional toilets at the sssembly field, Demonstration field, Maghera Orange Hall (Church Street) and St. Lurach's Parish Hall (The Lurach Centre).

First Aid will be on site at the Demonstration field with food and refreshment stalls available throughout the day.

Prior to the Twelfth celebrations a special welcome dinner for visiting Districts will be held at Maghera Orange Hall, and a series of local lodge and band events will be announced via the Castledawson District LOL No. 1 Facebook page.

Come along to Maghera on the Twelfth for a day that celebrates heritage, unity, and tradition in one of Ulster's most historic settings. From the stirring sound of the bands to the fellowship of lodges young and old, this is a day not to be missed.
