Step into the world of Seamus Heaney with our One Day Experience at HomePlace

Itinerary

10am:        A warm welcome with tea or coffee and a homemade scone in the HomePlace Café
10.30am:  Entry to our award-winning exhibition, guided by Seamus Heaney's own voice
12 noon:   A delicious picnic box to enjoy on your journey

In the afternoon continue your journey with Open Ground, a self-guided trail connecting five locations that were deeply significant to Seamus Heaney's life and writing: Toomebridge, Magherafelt, the Moyola River, The Strand at Lough Beg, and The Turf Man. As you explore these remarkable landscapes, you will experience the sights, sounds and atmosphere that inspired his poetry and continue to define this special place.

Please Note:

- This is a self-drive experience.

- Tours must be booked at least 48 hours in advance.

- Please advise us of any dietary requirements when booking.

- Meals are served as set menus, and drinks are not included.

- Please wear suitable outdoor clothing and footwear for exploring Open Ground.
