Ulster Orchestra: On Your Doorstep

Seamus Heaney HomePlace, 45 Main Street, Bellaghy, Derry, BT458BF
Ulster Orchestra at Seamus HeaneyHomeplace

About

Musicians from the Ulster Orchestra are delighted to return once again to Seamus Heaney HomePlace, this time in the company of harpist Tanya Houghton, to perform another gorgeous evening of music.

The programme will include Ravel's elegant and glowing string quartet, full of eerie shadow and glimmering sunlight and Ibert's Entr'acte for Flute and Harp, imbued with influences from Spanish traditional music; while Dodgson's glimmering Septet Variations and Ravel's Introduction and Allegro explore the huge variety of colours and textures that emerge from the instrumentation of flute, clarinet, harp and string quartet to mesmerising, exquisite effect.

On Your Doorstep is an Ulster Orchestra initiative, founded in the orchestra's 50th anniversary season, which sees the orchestra play in as diverse a range of venues as possible across Northern Ireland.
