Keep the Kids Active with Mid Ulster Leisure
Looking for ways to fill the school holidays? Mid Ulster District Council's Summer Schemes, leisure camps and £1 summer offers are back for another exciting season.
Summer Schemes run from 20 July to 14 August, giving children the opportunity to enjoy games, sports and activities while making new friends. Schemes take place at Cookstown, Dungannon and Greenvale Leisure Centres for children aged 8–11, while Meadowbank Sports Arena, Maghera Leisure Centre and Moneymore Recreation Centre welcome children aged 6–11.
Children can also sign up for Get Active Summer Camps, featuring golf, gymnastics, canoeing, angling and tennis for a variety of age groups.
Families can make the most of fantastic £1 Summer Offers, available Monday to Friday throughout July and August until 2pm. These include swimming, teen gym sessions, golf, athletics facilities, courts, pitches and soft play.
Mid Ulster's Neurodivergent Club also returns this summer, providing an inclusive, multi-activity environment where children and young people can enjoy movement and games at their own pace.
Adventure Awaits at The Jungle
If your family loves the great outdoors, The Jungle offers unforgettable adventures for all ages.
Their popular Family Fun Days return on 5 July, 26 July, 9 August and 23 August, giving families the chance to enjoy outdoor activities together in beautiful countryside surroundings.
Children aged 7–12 can also take part in the Ultimate Adventure Summer Scheme, running:

- 3–7 August
Each week is packed with laser tag, tree top adventures, beach games, tie-dye workshops, Splash Outdoor Waterpark and the famous Colour War finale – perfect for making lasting summer memories.

A Full Day of Adventure at Todd's Leap
Todds Leap's famous Open Park Days return this summer on 26 July and 23 August.
Running from 11am–4pm, families can enjoy more than 15 exciting activities suitable for all ages, alongside delicious food served throughout the day. Whether you're looking for adventure or simply a great family day out, Todd's Leap promises plenty of excitement.

Get Creative at Seamus Heaney HomePlace
For a slower-paced family day out, Seamus Heaney HomePlace has a wonderful programme of activities throughout the summer holidays.
Children can enjoy Drop-In Creative Sessions on 3, 22 and 31 July, featuring arts, crafts and hands-on creative projects for just £2 per hourly session.
For younger visitors, Indoor Play takes place every Monday from 6 July (excluding 13 July), with free LEGO, colouring, books and imaginative play in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
Alongside these activities, the Summer Education Programme offers a range of workshops and experiences celebrating creativity, storytelling and learning.

The Burnavon's summer programme gives children and young people the chance to explore their creative side through a variety of workshops.
Activities throughout July and August include sewing, comic art, pastel painting and digital audio sessions, providing fun opportunities to learn new skills and express creativity over the holidays.

For families who love exploring outdoors, Mid Ulster offers fantastic cycling opportunities.
Blessingbourne Estate features purpose-built mountain bike trails suitable for everyone from beginners to experienced riders, while Davagh Forest offers scenic cycling routes through the stunning Sperrin Mountains.

Reach for the Stars at OM Dark Sky Park
Discover one of Ireland's most unique attractions at OM Dark Sky Park and Observatory in Davagh Forest.
Daily guided exhibition tours explore astronomy, archaeology and the incredible dark skies above the Sperrins through interactive displays suitable for all ages.
Young space enthusiasts can also join the Junior AstronOMy Club on 26 July from 4pm–5pm, where fun, hands-on activities introduce children to stars, constellations and the wonders of the universe.

Try Something New at Dungannon Park
Looking for a free family activity? Why not give angling a go this summer?
Dungannon Park's Coarse Angling Taster Sessions return on 17 & 24 July and 7 & 14 August, giving beginners of all ages the chance to experience coarse fishing with expert guidance.
All equipment is provided free of charge, making it a brilliant activity for families wanting to try something different. Children under 10 should be accompanied by an adult, and booking is essential.
Young anglers can also enjoy £1 catch-and-release tickets, available daily throughout July and August until 5pm for under-18s.
